Dear Representatives Schakowsky, Kuster, and Krishnamoorthi,

Patriot Voices is a nationwide grassroots organization with a particular focus on the dignity of human life and the protection of life at all stages. We aim to give voice to the voiceless, and our efforts to combat human trafficking include spotlighting the problem and championing solutions on Capitol Hill. I know this is a bipartisan concern.

Human trafficking poses an incredibly pernicious threat to women and children, and Congress should do everything within its power to ensure that American companies’ products, platforms, and services do not facilitate in any way the trafficking of human beings. As recent reports have indicated, most dating apps and websites have not yet adopted security measures to verify that users are not listed on sex-offender registries.

Thank you for taking the lead on investigating the role that dating app companies have played in facilitating human trafficking through their deficient security standards. Your voice here is critical, and we are grateful for willingness to ask the tough questions of these companies.

Patriot Voices will continue to educate our grassroots leaders about specific opportunities to engage on this issue. To this end, we hope to hear more about your inquiries to the dating app companies. Please contact me and let me know how I can help you improve the safety of these services in order to end their illicit use in human trafficking.

Sincerely,

Rick Santorum
